Help with Making a Decision

For this two-card spread, think about something that you want to know whether it’s in your best interest to do or not do.

The left card represents the energy if you were to go forward with doing “it”. The right card represents the energy if you were to decide to not to “it”.

Here’s the reveal of these two cards:

The “To Do” card: Clarity – Time to be Clear

The “To Not Do” card: Transcendance – Time to Rise Above Your Limitations

Interpretation:

TO DO—Clarity:

If you decide to do “it”, it will be an opportunity for you to be clear about what you want…and maybe who you are and what you’re all about. It can also mean that before moving forward, you may need to clarify some details and your motivation. Does this feel like something that’s coming from a place of pure intention or is it being driven by ego, outside influences, or inside/outside pressure. Once you’re clear, then moving forward will make more sense.

TO NOT DO—Transcendence:

If you decide to not do “it”, it’s possible that something even better is in the wings…or that it may be better to put it off for a while. It may be a time to look at your limitations, ie. the mindset that’s holding you back from reaching your full potential. It may be best to work through your limiting beliefs (LBs) so that you can do a better version of “it” later on instead of what you were planning to do now.

So for me, I asked about creating a new mandala coloring book this year. I can see where both cards could apply. The key part of my question with regards to these two cards is “this year”.

My sense is that if I wanted to do it this year, I would need to be more clear about my intention with the coloring book. Do I want it to be just another coloring book or do I want it to be something more? It’s not enough for me to say I want to make a coloring book. And upon further review, I can see where I’m feeling like “I should” make a coloring book. “Should” is a more ego-based word…that I’m feeling pressure to do, which makes it feel more like a chore.

My sense about not doing it this year is that I need to do more internal work before creating this book. Before the whole “adult coloring book” craze happened, I had already been self-publishing mandala coloring books. And it felt like all of that just passed me by. At one point I had 20 different coloring books. Yes, I would sell some at fairs,  and I sold some via Etsy, but for some reason it didn’t “take”. I’ve since stopped publishing them. And yet, I keep feeling like I need to do something with my mandala designs. I can see where looking at any LBs I have about this project would be helpful. I can already tell that one of them is my belief that “no one wants to buy my mandala coloring books”. Ouch.
