Insight Monday — May 20, 2024

With this two-card spread I set the intention to receive more guidance regarding this week’s card: “Radiance”. The message from that card encourages shine our Light.

Today’s Two Cards:

  1. Position—General Advice: “Acceptance”
    it’s message: accept what is
  2. Position—How best to show up: “Seed”
    it’s message: be the seed that inspires

Interpretation:

Part of shining our Light is being able to do so even when it doesn’t feel like we have much Light to shine. The fact that we’re willing to is encouragement to others who may be misguided in thinking that you have to have a perfect Light in order to shine. Au contraire mon amie. We’re to accept where we are, without judgment or criticism, to own where we are, knowing that we’re ready, willing, and able to be an even brighter Light.

Which leads us into “how best to show up”…by shining our Light, putting our true self out there in all of our humanness (ie imperfection), we plant the seed for others to consider doing the same.

This spread reminds me of the Theodore Roosevelt “Man in the Arena” quote (edited to be gender neutral):

“It is not the critic who counts; not the [one] who points out how the strong [person] stumbles, or where the doer of deeds could have done them better. The credit belongs to the [one] who is actually in the arena, whose face is marred by dust and sweat and blood; who strives valiantly; who errs, who comes short again and again, because there is no effort without error and shortcoming; but who does actually strive to do the deeds; who knows great enthusiasms, the great devotions; who spends [themselves] in a worthy cause; who at the best knows in the end the triumph of high achievement, and who at the worst, if [one] fails, at least fails while daring greatly, so that [their] place shall never be with those cold and timid souls who neither know victory nor defeat.” — Theodore Roosevelt

With today’s spread, we are encouraged to be the ones in the arena.
